Bejing, Baby!!

After safely arriving in Beijing we went straight to the Temple-side hostel we were supposed to stay at. A very nice place to stay at, although somewhat expensive - 300 monopolies for a double.

In the morning we knew absolutely nothing of our visiting program, and were improvising. An idea (not sure whose) came up - a bike tour in Pekin (Beijing). WTF?! Really? Yeah, really. And we rode for roughly 9-10 hours that day. We saw much - it was a REAL blast!

Getting the guns up and ready!! Rusty bike... and the lady actually pumping the tires.. Mauahahah...
Lady got tired... Alex is pumping now... :-)
Finally we departed and saw soooo many places and had access to sooo many things!! Tian yanmen square.
Where is Alex?
Waiting for the lights in the middle of the wide street...The lights there change every 3 minutes or something like this.
Beijing Opera... A supposedly famous...
Crazy ride continues.
Checking out the map... BTW, behind me is the south entrance to the forbidden city.
The map that we were checking out... As you can see the plan was drawn by hand... :-) but we copied it to the map from a tour guide. The latter was too heavy to take up.
Alex asking for some directions... :-) Nice pose mister EilekZ!!!
The northern part of the Forbidden City.
Some building... Forgot...
This Dagoba was ERECTED (ahahah this is how they wrote) 300 years ago or something like this... anyhow a big white di...k, oops, in the middle of Beijing.
King Atha, well, we have no picture of Alex sitting on a throne as he doesn't have such an ambition. :-) If you look attentively, I am about to take off, because you have to pay to be able to take a picture with that hat and sit on this throne... But we didn't, and we are about to fly. :-)
Nice lotus garden was there as well.

Tambour tower.
Tour de France
Not Spain... Still China. 30% of the religious people in China are Christians...
Towards the end of the day, Alex's bike couldn't bear him any more and his back tired exploded... Well, he had noticed that there was something wrong 2 minutes before it exploded. We went inside a living block and found a bike-repairer, who quickly fixed our bike for only 5 euros. He put us a completely new tire! Very nice job little fella!
Happy Alex, with his new tires!
Temple of Heaven.

Alex... to the right.
And so the first day at Beijing was over... or was it not?
