The road to Beijing

The road to Beijing was hot, unnerving, and dangerous... :-)

We needed to catch a plain in a town, town... well, a 1 million pop town. And it was very, very hot. And we arrived at this town unexpectedly early - 3 hour in advance. So why not go and check the internet. An internet cafe was found and in we went. And here the hassle starts.

- Can we get some internet, please.
- ID, please.
- We don't have any...
- Passports, please.
- Here.
...
- I can't do anything for you because you need to have an internal Chinese ID to be able to surf the internet.
- WTF?? (Alex starts to get nervous...) Can you do something for us...
- Let me call somebody. (the lady calls that somebody, and apparently that somebody is to come, we suppose it's her boss).
15 minutes later. The infamous somebody has not shown up yet, MoFo!!
Alex starts to get stressed so do I...
- So, is your somebody coming soon?
- I don't know.
- What? You don't know when he is coming at?
- No.
- So we can come in 5 minutes or in 2 hours.
- Yes.
...
- WTF??! Can you call him to come faster, please?
- Ok. (Calls to somebody and says - these foreigners are asking if you arrive in 5 minutes or in 2 hours).
5 minutes later. A young police KING arrives... FFS, every pawn wants to be a king... The arrogant son of a Chinese! I would have loved to have him outside and w/o his gay uniform. Anyhow, here is the conversation he and Alex had:
- What do you want?
- Internet...
- What for?
- To check emails...
- Why?
- To write to somebody...
- To whom?
Alex slowly but surely starts to lose his temper - and his gesticulation becomes more explicit...
- To whom? Well, to my mother, to my uncle, to my sister...
- What do you want to write them?
- WTF??! I want to write them that I am okay, that we are doing fine etc.
- Which domain do you have your email on?
- WTF?? Yahoo...
- And your friend? (looking at me)
Well, with me it's a different story... I am not going to give this piece of shit any information - and I say to Alex that we ought to go. We took back our passports and went away.

:-) What a MoFo this police boy was...!!!

Anyhow when we arrived at the airport of that small town there was NOBODY :))
Emptiness...

Check it out.

Deadly emptiness.

Finally Beijing... Actually while on the plain we got into a storm - it was some spectacle! Lightnings very close to the plain - WOW! The only thing is that our camera was in our backpacks... so no pictures of the phenomena that scared out a beegeezes out of us!!
